Social audit

CHENNAI: A two-member team of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Council is now in Villupuram to undertake the first social audit of the implementation of the Rural Employment Guarantee Act in the State.

The audit will start on Saturday and conclude with a district-level meeting on August 2. Annie Raja and Jean Dreze who represent the Council are expected to complete the audit on August 1. They are also scheduled to participate in the district-level meeting the following day and also the State-level meet of the Council to be held in Chennai on August 4.
