Contests for school students to start next week

TIRUCHI: The Wisdom Club of National Institute of Technology, Tiruchi, (NITT) will conduct next week the preliminary rounds of the 12th edition of ‘Talentia-2007’, an inter-school competition for schools in and around Tiruchi and Thanjavur.

The events range from quiz, creative writing and drawing to crossword and sudoku. Elocution and essay writing contests will be held in both English and Tamil. The organisers expect the Maths talent quiz to steal the show among the participating school children by kindling their interest in the subject and offering food for thought.

The competitions are open to students from standard V to XII. The preliminary round will be held at the respective schools and the finals at the NITT campus in October.

The school securing the maximum number of points would receive the prestigious ‘Talentia Rolling Trophy.’
