KOLLAM: The monthly meeting of the District Development Council (DDC) here on Saturday was abruptly adjourned by District Collector K. Ajayakumar without completing the agenda after he got into an argument with Chathannur MLA N. Anirudhan over the issue of distribution of Civil Supplies kits to the people affected by the fever epidemic. The meeting held at the District Panchayat IT Hall was presided over by the Collector. At the meeting, Mr. Anirudhan informed the Collector that none from his constituency had received the kit. The Collector replied that he had entrusted the Revenue Divisional Officer concerned with the task of distributing the kits. However, Mr. Anirudhan maintained that the Chief Minister had entrusted the task to the Collector. To this, the Collector replied that if so, the Government should post a Collector at Chathannur for this specific duty. Mr. Anirudhan asked the Collector to explain in detail what he meant by that reply. Immediately, the Collector adjourned the meeting and left the venue.
