More Sanskrit study centres soon

Correspondent

Kakinada: Sanskrit study centres are being opened at some more centres with a view to popularising the Sanskrit language, according to Nanda Gopal, New Delhi representative of the Sanskrit Bharati. Addressing Sanskrit Bharati meeting here on Saturday, he advised the people to study Sanskrit not merely for the sake of employment but to enhance the prestige and honour of the country. Though English had its own importance in the wake of globalisation, the study of Sanskrit was equally important, as it was the country’s language and its greatness should be passed on to posterity. He said Sanskrit study centres were functioning effectively in America, Germany and Japan and recently started in Gulf countries.

Dorbhala Prabhakara Sarma, president, Poorvandhra Sanskrit Bharati, delivered presidential address.
