CPI(M) condemns killing
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has condemned the killing of peaceful protesters in police firing in Mudigonda, near Khammam in Andhra Pradesh. In a statement here on Saturday, the Polit Bureau of the CPI (M) said the police resorted to ‘brutal firing’ on people participating in a peaceful road blockade as part of the bandh to protest ‘police repression’ and the Government’s refusal to concede their genuine demands.
The CPI (M), CPI and 195 mass organisations have been conducting a peaceful stir for house sites and land for the poor since May.
Instead of settling the issues, the Congress Government in Andhra Pradesh resorted to ‘brutal attacks’ against the people, it said.
