U.S. retains strike option

Washington: Amidst a war of words between the U.S. and Pakistan over the issue of incursions in tribal areas to flush out militants, America has said it respects the sovereignty of its South Asian ally but would retain the option of targeting Al-Qaeda in its remote areas. Under Secretary of State Nicholas Burns said, “Are there any scenarios under which the United States might take its own action?
