GURGAON: Asian Games silver medallist Anirban Lahiri signalled his arrival on the professional stage winning the Professional Golf Tour of India’s Qualifying school golf tournament at the Golden Greens Golf and Country Club here. The 20-year-old Lahiri, who led from the start, finished the tournament with an even-par round of 72 despite bogeys on the last three holes. His four-day aggregate stood at seven-under 281, six strokes better than Raj Randhawa, who played the best card of the day at 69. Lahiri, however, has chosen to retain his amateur status till this October that will allow him to be in the Indian team at the prestigious Nomura Cup Asia-Pacific championship. Former Indian Open champion Feroz Ali Mollah finished third at 291 followed by Ranjit Singh (292) and Bangladesh’s Mohammed Siddiqur Rahman (294). — Principal Correspondent
