Kohli handed over to British police
New Delhi: Maninder Pal Singh Kohli, accused in the Hannah Foster murder in the U.K., was on Saturday handed over to the British police after the Delhi High Court allowed his extradition to stand trial in the case. Kohli, who was lodged in Tihar jail, was handed over to a police team from the U.K., a senior jail official said. “Officers of the jail and the Delhi police handed over Kohli’s custody to a three-member team of police personnel from the U.K., who had come here to take him,” the official said.
The Court on Friday allowed the extradition of Kohli by rejecting his apprehension that he would not get a fair trial in Britain. The Supreme Court had on July 20 declined to entertain Kohli’s petition. — PTI
