Joint training for forest, revenue staff mooted

VIJAYAWADA: District Collector Navin Mittal stressed the need for joint training programmes for officials of the forest and revenue departments for better protection of forests. Reviewing the status of forest lands in Krishna district on Saturday, Mr. Mittal said the programmes were necessary to educate officials about the action that would have to be taken with regard to patta lands notified by the government. The training would also help them evict encroachers of government as well as forest lands, he said. He felt that power connections for those who occupied forest lands could be disconnected immediately.
