Mullaperiyar: file fresh plea, says Jayalalithaa
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI: All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) general secretary Jayalalithaa on Saturday asked the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) Government to immediately move the Supreme Court with a fresh petition to stall the attempts of the Kerala Government to intensify efforts to construct a new dam across the Mullaperiyar.
In a statement here, she said the State Government should make efforts to expedite the case relating to the issue before the apex court.
The AIADMK would launch a massive agitation if the DMK Government failed to take steps to prevent the Kerala Government’s attempts to construct a new dam across the river, she warned.
