CHENNAI: Grasim Industries has posted a net profit of Rs. 511.66 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2007 as compared to Rs. 311.90 crore in the year-ago period. Total Income has risen to Rs. 2,512.53 crore from Rs. 1,929.20 crore. On a consolidated basis the net profit stood at Rs. 669.67 crore as compared to Rs. 435.25 crore in the period under reference. The board of directors of the company, has, subject to the approval of shareholders and other requisite approvals, decided to sell / transfer the company’s textile units, namely, Bhiwani Textile Mills and Elegant Spinners at Bhiwani (Haryana), as a going concern, to a subsidiary of the company.
