TIRUCHI: S. Arun Kanna’s 109 for Theni was the highlight in the quarterfinal encounter against Tiruchi that ended in a draw in the TNCA under-15 inter-district cricket tournament here on Saturday. Since Theni’s first innings was unfinished the match had to be decided by the spin of coin and Tiruchi was declared winner. The scores (quarterfinals): At Tiruchi: Tiruchi 286 in 121 overs (R. Aadarsh 79, Vijay Vishwanath 49) vs. Theni 215 for seven in 87 overs (S. Arun Kanna 109, P.S. Nirmal Kumar three for 84). (Tiruchi won by spin of coin). At Cuddalore: Cuddalor e 124 & 21 for four in seven overs (K. Karthik three for 15) vs. Tiruvallur 376 in 121.2 overs (A. Srinivas 93, Sanjay Krishna 61, Nilesh Subramanian 51, Roshan 46, K. Karthik 43, J. Pradeep three for 71). (Tiruvallur won by virtue of its first innings lead).
