KOCHI: The Writer Corporation has decided to move the Madras High Court challenging the suspension of its basketball star S. Robinson by the Tamil Nadu Basketball Association. “We will file a writ petition in the High Court on Monday or Tuesday,” said Prem Lamech, General Manger, Writer-India, on Saturday. “I spoke to our lawyer and he says the suspension is illegal.” Robinson was suspended by the TNBA in December for not attending the State camp and was not allowed to play in tournaments. “He was down with malaria and he had given the doctor’s certificate to the association to explain his absence,” said Mr Lamech. With the TNBA turning a deaf ear to Writer’s repeated pleas to lift the ban, the firm has now decided to fight the battle legally. Writer is also planning to register its basketball club with the Karnataka Basketball Association and shift the club’s base from Chennai to Bangalore. — Principal Correspondent
