Kohli charged in U.K.

London: A day after he was extradited to the United Kingdom, Maninder Pal Singh Kohli (39) was charged with the kidnap, rape and murder of teenager Hannah Foster in March 2003. He was also charged with manslaughter, false imprisonment and perverting the course of justice. He will be produced before magistrates in Southampton on Monday.

Kohli, who had persistently protested his innocence, was flown into the Heathrow airport from India on Saturday afternoon.

Hannah (17) was murdered as she walked home from a night out in Southampton. Her body was found two days later and post-mortem revealed that she had been raped and strangled. — PTI
