Arjun Gowda slams 103

BANGALORE: Arjun Gowda hammered 103 for Combined City XI which drew with Mysore Zone in the S.A. Srinivasan memorial inter-zonal ( under-22) cricket championship here on Monday.

Combined City XI declared its first innings for 319 for eight wickets and in reply, Mysore Zone made 195 with Nirmit scoring an unbeaten 95. In its second knock , Combined City ts XI made 59 for no loss.

In the other matches, Mangalore Zone drew wiuth Raichur Zone and so did, Tumkur Zone with Shimoga Zone. The high scoring contest between Bangalore City XI and Bangalore Zone also petered out into a draw.

The scores:

Combined City XI 319 for eight decl (Manjunath 75, Arjun Gowda 103, Himmat Singh 50) and 59 for no loss drew with Mysore Zone 195 (Nirmit 95 n.o.).

Mangalore Zone 265 (M. Ashwin 52, Divesh Kumar 75, Amit Bodi four for 42) and 149 for three (Gurudeep Madhyasta 71 n.o.) drew with Raichur Zone 245 (R.Sandeep 45, Nayeen Indikar 52, K.Sumit five for 51).

Tumkur Zone 196 (Raghavendra four for 18) and 192 (G.P.Tejas 41, Narasimhamurthy six for 33) drew with Shimoga Zone 315 for nine decl. (M.K.Sagar 72, Akash 42) and 21 for two,

Bangalore City XI 316 (Kunal Kapoor 51, Nishnath Hegde 68, Ryan Ninay 71, Rajesh Singh 46 ) drew with Bangalore Zone 241 for five (Vijay 59,Stalin Hoover 70, Tejas Wagle 46, Prajwal 52). — Special Correspondent
