The 43rd Annual Sports Meet of Seva Sangam Girls Higher Secondary School, Tiruchi, was celebrated recently. The Blue House won the overall championship at the meet. P. Sandhya (class XI), K.G. Parimala (IX) and Lavanya (VIII) bagged the individual championships in under-19, 17 and 14 age categories. The proprietor of the K.R.T. Groups, K. Rengarajan inaugur ated the school’s new playground in the presence of Industrialist K.N. Ramajeyam. Mass drill performed by the students on the occasion was well received by the audience. The Chief Educational Officer, R. Muthukrishnan gave away the prizes. The Headmistress of the school, G. Parameswari, the president of the Tiruchi Seva Sangam Trust, C. Saraswathi and other office bearers of the Trust were present. Students win inter-school kabaddi tournament
The Boiler Plant Boys Higher Secondary School won the title at the Ambujam Ammal Memorial inter-school kabaddi tournament recently. It defeated host UDV Higher Secondary School in the final. More than twenty school teams from various parts of the Tiruchi district participated in the tournament. The Headmaster of the winning school, R. Senthil Kumar commended the efforts of the students. The Medical Superintendent, CSI Mission Hospital, D. Samson Daniel gave away the prizes in the presence of the president of the Urumu Seshachalam Chettiar Trust, G.R. Kalki Varadarajulu, and the Headmaster of the host school, L.W.C. Xavier. Young player ready to go places
Young chess player, R. Abirami, a class III student of Sri Vignesh Vidyalaya, Koothur, near Samayapuram, has performed consistently well in the tournaments conducted at various levels. Trained by S. Balasubramaniam, she emerged winner at the regional-level chess tournament in the under-9 age category last month. Abirami also secured third place in the State-level tournament at Karur.
