Muslims seek job reservation

NEW DELHI: About a dozen non-political groups of Muslims have formed a Joint Committee of Muslim Organisations for Empowerment, demanding recognition of the community as a backward class with a separate sub-quota for reservation in government jobs.

As the first step, the committee demanded that a discussion should be held in the coming session of Parliament on the status of Muslims in the country.
