Hollywood bonanza this August

THIS FOR “TALK OF THE TOWN” WITHOUT PICTURE.

English movie channel HBO has lined up a treat of blockbusters for its viewers through August. From action to drama, love to hate, and horror to adventure, HBO will present movies under titles like ‘Blockbuster of the Month’, ‘Ind ependence Day Bonanza’, ‘HBO Friday Blockbusters’ and ‘HBO Sunday Super Hits’.

HBO has managed to bring the best of Hollywood by premiering top blockbusters on television first in South Asia through its exclusive licensing deals with four major Hollywood studios --Paramount, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Universal and Warner Bros. The movie channel has also introduced a new block for cinema lovers this August as it brings ‘HBO See It First’, a collection of movies premiering for the first time on Indian television every Saturday.

The premieres for this August include movies like ‘Firewall’, ‘Aeonflux’, ‘Brokeback Mountain’ and ‘The Dukes of Hazzard’. In the ‘HBO Blockbuster of the Month’ section, the channel shall premier the movie ‘Wedding Crashers’ on August 31. Also, in celebration of India’s 60th year of Independence, HBO will present ‘HBO Independence Day Bonanza’ featuring four blockbusters back to back on August 15. These include ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’, ‘Batman Begins’, ‘The Legend of Zorro’ and ‘King Kong’.

In the ‘HBO Sunday Super Hit’ section, the channel will offer viewers yet another treat with films like ‘Syriana’, ‘The Producers’, ‘Dance With Me’ and ‘Ready to Rumble’ being shown every Sunday night in August. Other smash hits like ‘Evolution’ and ‘Solo’ will be showcased in the ‘HBO Friday Blockbusters’ block every Friday night.
