Hepatitis-B vaccine administered to 720 children at Kuzhipanthandalam

KANCHEEPURAM: Hepatitis-B vaccine was administered to 720 children living in and around Kuzhipanthandalam village near Kalpakkam recently.
The vaccine was administered to the children free of cost at a medical camp organised at the village by the Madras Atomic Power Station.
Cataract screening
Cataract screening was also conducted for 220 persons out of whom 19 were identified for surgery.
Patients identified for cataract surgery were referred to a private eye hospital at Tambaram, according to P. K. Singh, Manager (Human Resources), MAPS.
General medical check up was also conducted at the camp where nearly 400 people were screened for various ailments.
