Varanasi: Two persons drowned in river Ganga near Shivala ghat in neighbouring Chandauli district on Tuesday, police said. A group of tourists from Andhra Pradesh was taking bath in the river when two of them slipped into the deep water and died. The deceased were identified as Purunia Shastri and Naresh Rao, police said, adding their bodies were fished out by local divers.
