Arrack vendors stage protest

DAVANGERE: Arrack vendors took out a procession here on Tuesday protesting against the Government for not providing alternative jobs to them after banning the sale of arrack in the State. Led by H.K. Ramachandrappa, president of the State Arrack Vendors’ Association, they raised slogans against the Government and demanded that over five lakh people had been rendered jobless after the ban. – Staff Correspondent
