THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Leader of the Opposition Oommen Chandy will stage a 24-hour satyagraha before the Secretariat on Friday in protest against Government’s failure to tackle the fever epidemic properly. The high-power committee of the United Democratic Front (UDF) which met here on Tuesday decided to organise large public meetings at different parts of the State on August 22 to highlight the administrative failings of the Government. Briefing presspersons on the decisions of the committee, UDF convener P.P. Thankachan said Mr. Chandy would offer fast from 10 a.m. on Friday to 10 a. m. on Saturday. Simultaneously, protest demonstrations would be organised at all panchayat and municipal centres.
