Ten per cent growth within reach: Chidambaram

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: Finance Minister P. Chidambaram on Monday expressed regret at the slow pace of economic reforms while noting that a 10 per cent economic growth was still possible. Speaking at the launch of former bureaucrat N.K. Singh’s book ‘The Politics of Change: A Ringside View’ here, Mr Chidambaram said: “My only regret after being in Government for so many years is — we can be faster. We should seize more opportunities and do more reforms.” The Finance Minister lamented that even after a decade of liberalisation, the country was still debating over different views on economic reforms.
