Chitradurga: Under the State Finance Corporation (SFC), Chitradurga City Municipal Corporation (CMC) has received Rs. 6.17 crore for infrastructure development, MLA G. H. Tippareddy has said. Addressing presspersons here on Monday, he said that the funds had been released under various heads such as the 12th Finance Commission’s road and bridge construction, and construction and repair of buildings programme. “ The action plan for utilisation of funds has been prepared and the proposal is awaiting administrative approval”, he said. The MLA said that the funds would be used for construction of roads, asphalting, construction of drains, construction of pathways, parks, installation of cement benches and garbage collection boxes. Mr. Tippareddy said that from the MLA’s local area development funds, he had already given over Rs. 1 crore, while more would be in the offing. “MLAs receive Rs. 33 lakh every quarter towards the development of their constituencies”, he said.
