Word power: Book exhibition organised by DC Books at VJT hall in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Over 12,000 titles from 50 different publishers, the DC Book fair currently on at the VJT hall promises to be a literary feast for book lovers. From Harry Potter series to esoteric world of modern arts, customers and visitors to the nine-day-long fair are spoilt for choice with thousands of books from India and abroad on display. The collections include both English and Malayalam titles. ‘Lokarashtrangal’ (Nations of the world) a compilation of history, culture and contemporary politics of various countries across the globe in three volumes brought out by D.C. books, is the most expensive Malayalam title at Rs.2,750, while Encyclopaedia Britannica with 32 volumes tops the bill in the English section at Rs.55,000. The fair, which was inaugurated here on Tuesday by K.R. Mohanan, chairman Kerala State Film Academy, will conclude on August 8. The exhibition is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
