HYDERABAD: Asserting that the party will go ahead with its plans to launch the land struggle with more intensity, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) State committee has asked the Government take immediate steps to resolve the land issues. The CPI (M) State secretariat that met here on Tuesday warned that the Government will have to take the responsibility for the consequences if the demands were not met. The meeting criticised the Congress leaders for giving “caste colour” to the movement while the Government, on its part, was trying to isolate the struggle launched by the Left in the name of involvement of Maoists. Advice to Congress
“The ruling party should introspect how many former Maoists had infiltrated into the Congress right from the State Cabinet to lower level before levelling charges against the land struggle,” the resolution adopted in the meeting said. It regretted that the APCC president K. Keshava Rao set aside the decency of his post in making charges against the land struggle. State criticised
Criticising the Government for unleashing “repression” that had culminated in the killing of seven persons, the meeting reiterated its demand for the resignation of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy owning moral responsibility for the firing.
