BHEL net profit jumps

NEW DELHI: Bharat Heavy Electricals announced a 22 per cent jump in net profit at Rs. 288.91 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2007, against Rs. 236.67 crore in the same quarter last year. Total income increased by 24 per cent to Rs. 3,440.24 crore from Rs. 2,779.46 crore, according to an official release. Revenue from power projects rose to Rs. 2,736.22 crore from Rs. 2,181.76 crore.
