Speaking at the meeting, Project Director, E.V. Swarna Latha said that ‘whiteners’, (used in erasing type written words) are being abused rampantly by children living on the streets and in schools too. Increase in sales of ‘Erase- Ex’, a whitener is illogical in an era where most offices use computers.

Apart from stationery shops, whiteners are available at paan shops all over Charminar for Rs.15.

Those addicted sniff the whitener. Addressing the gathering, MLA, Charminar, Syed Ahmed Pasha Qadri asked the parents to monitor habits of children.
