State police put on alert

Thiruvananthapuram: The State police have been put on alert following intelligence reports that anti-social elements could foment minor trouble in Kerala after the Tamil Nadu court trying the Coimbatore serial blasts case announces its verdict on Wednesday.

A senior intelligence official said he did not expect any serious violence or disruption of normal life in the State. The police have stepped up security in communally sensitive areas just as an added precaution, he said.
