Taking patrons of art through a veritable museum-like experience, the exhibition that ended at The Oberoi Hotel here over the weekend is now continuing in its new avatar at Gallerie Romain Rolland till this coming Sunday.

Bengal art is viewed by art lovers as a school where contemporary masters evolved their aesthetic temperament to produce exquisite masterpieces.

The rich bowl of cultural progression in Bengal brought alive modern thoughts and gave birth to contemporary modern Indian art.

The masters of Shanti Niketan broke traditional stereotypes and allowed an independent art movement to emerge.

The exhibition is a visual narrative that unravels the evolution of fine arts in Bengal. From the poetic lyricism of Rabindranath Tagore, the rooted art of Jamini Roy to the abstract free and inspiring creation of the young masters, De Montage Arts once again puts this puritanical school under the arch lights, offering art lovers and investors an opportunity to view the works of legendary masters.

The exhibition, whose theme is ‘Legend of Bengal Art’, is curated by Alakananda Saha and Kalyani Chawla of De Montage Arts.

Talking about this unique art show, Kalyani says: “Masters who reside in metropolitan cities of Mumbai and New Delhi have had the fortune of showcasing their arts at various forums.

"Galleries of repute have enhanced their affordability to a level of saturation. In contrast, Bengal art stands a better chance to get appreciation from art connoisseurs and become a blue chip investment. Moreover, the timeless quality makes this school a befitting heirloom that you will never remove from your walls.”

The exhibition showcases works by great masters as well as the young artists; a rich montage that offers rare works of the legendary Rabindranath Tagore, Jamini Roy and Ramkinkar Baij and angst of modern artists like Jogen Chowdhary or Sanjay Bhattacharya.

The illustrious list of artists includes Abanindranath Tagore, Gaganendranath Tagore, , Subrata Gangopadhyay, Ramananda Bandopadhyay, Amitabh Sen Gupta, Lalu Prasad Shaw, Sudip Roy, Jogen Suman Royand many more.
