One dies, 40 injured in accident

VILLUPURAM: One person was killed and 40 others were injured when a transport corporation bus fell into a 10-foot roadside pit at Sithathur near Ulundurpet on Wednesday.

The town bus was on its way to Ulundurpet from Sithathur. The deceased passenger was identified as V. Muthu Udayar of Gurupadapuram. Of the injured, 30 were treated as outpatients and 10 others as inpatients at the Government General Hospital here. It is said the driver lost control as the road was full of potholes.
