Canara Bank presents Rs.210 cr. as dividend

NEW DELHI: Chairman and Managing Director of Canara Bank M.B.N. Rao presented a cheque for Rs.210 crore as dividend for the financial year 2006-2007 to Union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram here on Wednesday.

In 2006-2007, Canara Bank achieved its highest net profit of Rs.1,421 crore on the back of a strong top line growth. With the growth in profitability, the bank has declared a dividend of 70 per cent, the highest since it went public, compared with 66 per cent dividend for 2005-2006 fiscal.
