Prabhat Shukla, new ambassador to Russia
New Delhi: India on Wednesday named senior IFS officer Prabhat Shukla as the next Ambassador to Russia. A 1974 batch officer, Mr. Shukla, presently High Commissioner to Australia, will succeed Kanwal Sibal.
D. Chakravarti, India’s High Commissioner to Tanzania, has been appointed Ambassador to Romania.
The 1977 batch IFS officer is expected to take charge shortly.
Ambassador to Libya
M. Manimekalai, a 1981 IFS officer, has been appointed Ambassador to Libya.
She was the Joint Secretary in charge of West Asia and North Africa in the Ministry of External Affairs. — PTI
