PATHANAMTHITTA: Union Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh will inaugurate Bodhana Sangamom at the St. John’s Cathedral Hall in Thiruvalla on Friday. The sangamom is a meeting of self-help groups under Bodhana, a social welfare organisation attached to the Thiruvalla Archdiocese of the Malankara Catholic Church. Bodhana director Fr. Mathew Punakulam said Transport Minister Mathew T. Thomas would distribute the keys of seventy-five houses constructed by the Church for the homeless on the occasion. ‘Home for all’
The scheme, ‘Home for all’, was part of the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Thiruvalla archdiocese, he added. The Major Archbishop and Catholicos, Mar Baselios Cleemis, will be honoured at the function. Vicar General Mon. Cherian Ramanalil Corepiscopa will preside over the meeting. Kuriakose Mar Savarios, Archbishop of Knayana Church, will deliver the benedictory speech. Thiruvalla Sree Ramakrishna Ashram president Swami Samagrananda, Geevarghee Mar Themotheos, Joshua Mar Ignatheos, Prof P.J. Kurien, MP, Joseph M. Puthusserry, MLA, municipal chairman R. Jayakumar, Father Varghese Kattuparmbil and Bodhana president Shibu Varghese, among others, will address the function.
