Cisco to focus on ITeS sector

BANGALORE: Cisco Systems India Pvt. Ltd, part of the $28.5 billion global networking company Cisco Systems Inc., will focus this year on Indian companies in the IT-enabled Services (ITeS) sector, helping them improve their productivity and business performance.
“We feel they needed this to cope with both the appreciating rupee and achieve affordable scalability to maintain their cost advantage,” Ajay Goel, Senior Vice-President-IT Services for India and SAARC, told reporters here on Thursday.
“ITeS customers contribute 30 per cent of our revenues in India and our business with them has been growing 25 per cent year-on-year and studies by the National Association of Software Services Companies (Nasscom) predict this growth will continue.
The company’s customers include those in the government and defence sectors with increasing IT needs,” Mr. Goel said.
