Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Chief Secretary J. Harinarayan has asked secretaries and heads of various departments/agencies of the Government to ensure compulsory of use of Telugu in all administrative matters to take the Government to people.

Through an order, he asked them to switch over to the State’s official language in all their correspondence with others at various levels.

Meanwhile, A. B. K. Prasad, Chairman, State Official Languages Commission, regretted that the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission had deleted General Telugu as a subject for the Group I and II service examinations but retaining this status for General English. Mr Prasad, however, complimented the APPSC for formulating uniform syllabus both for English and Telugu medium candidates appearing for the Group I and II examinations.
