Cheer for sports lovers

It was a week of cheer for sports lovers of twin cities with Very, Very, Special Laxman and Sania Mirza doing pretty well in their respective arenas. Laxman fighting to stay in the playing 11 coming up with a fairly decent and well compiled 50 in the Trent Bridge Test against England was in fact looking good for more before he got out.

The stylish batsman ensured that he would be part of the playing team for the last test at Oval where hopefully he will come with one of those special innings he is very much capable of. Sania on her part silenced critics with sterling display in the Stanford Classic Tennis tournament. She is going where no Indian women’s tennis player has gone before, so isn’t it time for Doubting Thomas to let her be?
