TIRUCHI: The Corporation has made elaborate arrangements at the bathing ghats along the Cauvery river here in view of the Adi Perukku festival on Friday.
The Mayor, Sarubala R. Tondaiman, and the Corporation Commissioner, B. Balachandran, inspected the arrangements made at the bathing ghats at Amma Mandapam, Keethapuram, Odathurai, Thillai Amman Padithurai and other places in the city.
The Mayor instructed the officials to set up medical camps at Amma Mandapam and Odathurai bathing ghats. Sanitary workers would be deployed on rotational basis to ensure hygiene.
The City Engineer, S. Raja Mohammed, and the Executive Engineer, R. Chandran, accompanied the Mayor.
Meanwhile, Police and Fire and Rescue Services have also made security arrangements at the bathing ghats.
Encroachers warned
Later while inspecting the Central Bus Stand expansion work, Mrs. Tondaiman instructed the shopkeepers inside the bus stand to remove all unauthorised structures voluntarily, failing which the Corporation would do so.
She also instructed the officials to renovate the passengers rest room.
