Community halls rent will be the same

Staff Reporter

Chennai: The Chennai Corporation’s decision to privatise the management of community halls was made only to ensure their upkeep and optimum use, Mayor M. Subramanian said here.

In a statement on Thursday, he said the rental charges of the community halls would continue to be the same as that charged by the Corporation now. A notice board quoting the charges would be displayed at the halls. If private managers charged extra, their contracts would be cancelled, he said.
