Nandi TV award renamed

HYDERABAD: The best actor award in the verse play category of Nandi TV awards has been renamed after noted theatre artiste Bellary Raghava.
This was announced by C. Parthasarathi, Managing Director, Andhra Pradesh State Film Television and Theatre Development Corporation, on Thursday.
He was speaking after garlanding a statue of Bellary Raghava on Tank Bund on the occasion of his 127th birth anniversary. The function was jointly organised by the corporation, Department of Cultural Affairs and Telugu University. Mr. Parthasarathi said the Government chose Bellary Raghava’s name for the award in recognition of his contribution to Telugu theatre. Students of Telugu University later staged a street play titled ‘Mana katha’.
