CHENNAI: A three-day exhibition of hospital needs ranging from hospital linen, surgical instruments to medical equipment is to be conducted by Medicall, an organisation that hosts medical-related exhibitions, at Rajah Muthiah Hall, Egmore, from Friday.
About 180 exhibitors will participate in the exhibition which Health Secretary V.K. Subburaj is scheduled to inaugurate. Medicall’s chief executive officer Manivannan said that hospital infrastructure, including equipment to facilitate better health care, needed to be upgraded.
Besides domestic firms, three Chinese companies specialising in manufacturing endoscopy products are expected to participate in the expo, said Dr. Manivannan. The event will also feature healthcare software.
A seminar for biomedical engineers and students would be organised on Saturday to update them on new technologies.
A fashion show on medical garments would be organised on Saturday in collaboration with the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Tirupur.
