HYDERABAD: Osmania University appointed four new Additional Controllers of Examinations following the resignation of officials presently occupying the position. The new Additional Controllers are Ramachandra Reddy, Goverdhan, Prasad and Moizuddin – all teachers in various departments. Resigned
Officials said the earlier occupants resigned expressing their displeasure on the manner in which the Controller of Examinations, M. Nagabushanam, was replaced by the authorities. Prof. Nagabushanam was replaced apparently after he released the results of four Bachelor of Communication & Journalism (BCJ) students within four days of applying for revaluation and that too without the notice of the Vice Chancellor. Counselling boycotted
The four students, who bagged good ranks in the MCJ entrance examination, were declared failed in BCJ. Protesting against the manner in which they were failed MCJ counselling was boycotted by all the students so as to give a chance for them to apply for revaluation. Expedited
In view of the urgency of the matter, the Examinations branch expedited the valuation and released the results within four days. Officials said the Controller was asked to resign for the way the entire episode was handled.
