Flays Government for crisis on education front Says Cabinet has lost collective responsibility
Kozhikode: The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has accused the Left Democratic Front (LDF) Government of precipitating a grave crisis on the educational front and voiced its protest against what in its perception the Government’s vindictive and hostile attitude towards educational institutions in the private sector. A resolution adopted by a State working committee meeting of the party here on Thursday criticised the proposed move by the Government to change school timings and the Kerala Educational Rules (KER). In another resolution, the Muslim League accused the LDF Government of putting the State’s development clock back and alleged that it had been a failure on all fronts. “The Chief Minister has been making contradictory statements in a desperate attempt to regain the Government’s image that has been damaged by corruption and failures on all fronts. The principle of collective responsibility has been thrown to the winds… even those who played a key role in the thumping win of the LDF in the last Assembly polls are now disappointed and unhappy with the performance of the Government,” the resolution said. The working committee decided to mobilise all its resources for the success of the United Democratic Front’s protest in front of all Collectorates in the State on August 18. Welcoming the acquittal of the People’s Democratic Party leader Abdul Nasser Maudhany, the League said his internment for nearly a decade was an indelible blot on judiciary’s record book. The resolution was quick to highlight the fact that it was a decision of the E.K. Nayanar-led LDF Government to arrest the PDP leader and hand him over to the Tamil Nadu police that led to the condemnable and alarming denial of natural justice to Mr. Maudany.
