Minister’s pat for Sainath
HYDERABAD: Rural Development Minister G. Chinna Reddy has congratulated P. Sainath, Rural Affairs Editor, The Hindu, for winning the Ramon Magsaysay award.
In a statement, he said, the award won by Mr. Sainath had brought special honour for Telugus. The series of incisive articles written by the eminent journalist had paved the way for initiating many a rural development programme.
Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu also congratulated Mr. Sainath for winning the award.
Rural India
In a statement, Mr. Naidu said Mr. Sainath had been writing brilliantly on issues plaguing rural India, awakening the people and the Governments to remedy the situation. “You have already to your credit many laurels and I am confident that you will earn many more coveted awards in the years to come. We are proud of you and your accomplishments.”
