BANGALORE: A 32-year-old man, a call centre assistant, was allegedly strangled by his mother and younger brother at their house in Kempegowda Nagar Police Station limits on Wednesday night.

The police said after assaulting Santosh, his mother Usha Kamala and brother Raghavendra strangled him with a dupatta and dumped his body in a ditch near their house on 2nd Main, Ramakrishna Math Layout, off Basavanagudi.

On Thursday morning, passers-by noticed the body and alerted the police. While some residents of the area identified the body as that of Santosh, Usha initially claimed that it was not his.

On interrogation, she confessed to the killing, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Alok Kumar told The Hindu. The Kempegowda Nagar police arrested Usha (53), a widow, and Raghavendra (24). A bachelor, Santosh was the sole breadwi nner of the family and he was employed with Omega Healthcare, a call centre on Airport Road. Santosh often quarrelled with his unemployed brother accusing him of misusing his money. On Wednesday afternoon, the two brothers, who were drunk, had a spat and Raghavendra assaulted Santosh, Mr. Kumar said. Around 10.30 p.m., an inebriated Santosh came home and had an argument with Raghavendra. Subsequently, his mother and brother strangled him.
