DDA orders inquiry
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: In the wake of registration of a case against five Delhi Development Authority officials for their alleged involvement in the land scam unearthed by the Central Bureau of Investigation, DDA Vice-Chairman Dinesh Rai on Thursday ordered an internal inquiry into the matter.
Mr. Rai said the Chief Vigilance Officer has been asked to gather facts about the case and ascertain to what extent the DDA officials were involved. “There are other agencies like the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and even the Delhi Government that allot lands for resettlement purposes. We would have to see which of these plots were allotted by the DDA officials,” said Mr. Rai.
The Vice-Chairman said he has asked the CVO to acquire a copy of the FIR. “So far the information is very sketchy and the CBI too is studying the documents recovered during the raids, ,” he said.
Two deputy directors, one of whom has retired, an assistant director, an assistant engineer and a junior engineer have been named in the FIR and raids have been conducted at their offices and residences in the city.
