HYDERABAD: A 22-year-old man Mohd. Mazharuddin committed suicide by jumping from the seventh floor of 10-storyed Income-Tax building at Shantingar in Nampally on Friday, the police said. No suicide note was found on the body. Motive behind his death was not yet known, Nampally police station Sub-Inspector B. Pratap Kumar said. Marketing executive
A resident of AC Guards, Mazharuddin used to live with his uncle and work as marketing executive of a wheat flour making unit run by the latter. He left home at around 9 a.m. on his motorcycle which was found parked on the premises of the Income-Tax office. He went up the seventh floor and jumped at about 9.30 a.m. Consumes acid?
The cap of a bathroom cleaning acid found on the seventh floor and the empty bottle lying a few metres away from the body suggested that Mazharuddin possibly drank some of it before jumping down. The victim was not identified till evening. With the help of the key of a bike found near the body, the police confirmed the bike at the parking lot belonged to him. Mazharuddin’s address was traced to AC Guards after verifying data based on the motorbike’s registration number.
