KARAIKAL: Thousands of devotees have started thronging the pilgrimage town of Tirunallar near here to offer prayers to Lord Saneeswara Bhagawan at Sri Dharbaranyeswarar temple in connection with the ‘Sani peyarchi’ function to be held at noon on Sunday.

Elaborate arrangements

The district administration and the temple authorities have made elaborate arrangements including basic amenities such as protected drinking water, sanitation and security for devotees. Arrangements also have been made for bathing in the temple tanks in Tirunallar, particularly the ‘Nalatheertham’. N. Vasantha Kumar, Collector, told The Hindu on Friday that a number of VIPs including Lt. Governor Mukut Mithi, Chief Minister N. ‘Abishekams’

Special ‘abishekams’ would be performed to Saneeswara Bhagawan and the deity would be taken out in ‘golden crow vahanam’ during night.
