Increasing pace of life, lack of faith and time is attracting people towards making friends even with an anonymous on the net, says D.Barik, a psychologist. Among the aged a sizeable group is now turning to internet chatting and friendship. In a way it is also helping them to pour out their emotional blockades as they usually do not find a proper friend to interact. A retired senior engineer of the city, who lives a lonely life as he is a bachelor feels easy to interact on social and family topics that he may find difficult discuss with a friend he knows due to mental blockades. For him it is quite easy to open up before a stranger with similar bent of mind for a discussion as he knew that they will never come in touch with each other after the talk. There are many lonely aged persons who prefer to talk about their family woes related to generation gap with unknown persons from across the world only due to anonymity. According to Ms Barik this pouring out of emotions can help in easing out their minds, which are in turmoil due to lack of communication. Sage advice
There are youngesters like S.Das, who have gained due to anonymous friendship on the net. Das was reluctant to pursue higher studies in technical field. But an anonymous engineer from Malaysia with whom he chatted on net persuaded him to get admitted for degree course, which his parents had not been able to do. In small townships youth chat with anonymous personalities of other sex to vent out their pent up emotions as mixing of boys and girls even as friends is still a taboo in these places. But according to Jayant, in most of the cases it is a sweet conning as the girl one may be chatting with may be a boy sitting at a e-cafe next door.
