CHENNAI: From dance to religion, cultural connections between Thailand and India abound. To celebrate 60 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries, the Royal Thai Consulate General and the International Cine Appreciation Forum are conducting a three-day Thai film festival at the South India Film Chamber Theatre. “Our people and countries have enjoyed relations for a long, long time,” said Suphot Yanthukij, Consul-General, Royal Thai Consulate, at the inauguration of the festival here on Friday. Principal Secretary to the Governor C.K. Gariyali described her trip to Thailand and her admiration for its culture. Director of Information and Public Relations A.C Mohan Doss said that relations with Thailand date back to almost 1,000 years back. The festival is on until August 5.
